Connections

The story The Giver reminds me of alot of thinks.I remember when I was a little boy and I sall an airplane for my first time.At first I was scared but at the end I new it was'nt so bad at all.I could also make a connection with Jonas because I am also smart,brave,and I also like to be around with my family and friends.For me I think friends are the most important people in your live and familys becasue they will always have your back.

Ending

I would'nt change the ending of The Giver because I think it was a good ending.At the end of the story they made us more interested in finding out what happen to Jonas and Gabe.We will never know what really happen to them.Maybe they found a new place were everyone is not the same.Or maybe they both died and when they sall a bright light it was them going up to heven.So what ever had happen to them I know for a fact that they will be in a better place.    

Events

The event that I like the most In The Giver was the ceremony of twelve.One reason why is because that is were Jonas,Asher,Fiona and more people got their assignment.Jonas had a special assignment.His assignment was the Receiver of Memory.He could'nt tell no one about his memory's.He also had to follow many rules.One of the rules that surprise Jonas the most was that he could lie.Jonas had never lie before in his live.This reminds me of the day when my teacher gave each of us a assignment like the Giver.My assignment was taking care of the old.In my opinion I think it will be a good assignment for me because If I could take care of my little brother taking care of the old would'nt be that hard for me.

The Giver Theme of Memory and the Past

In The Giver, memories are a source of wisdom, but also of pain.The Giver gave Jonas a memory of pain. One of the first was the memory of a sledding accident anothor is a War with a dying child asking for water,there is also a sun burn.At the end of the story when Jonas escabe with Gabe he could see all the memory The Giver had gave him.He could see the colors and animals that he had seen before in his memorie.He also sall the snow and remember that their was a sled in the top of the mountain.

Jonas-Jonas is Sensitive and intelligent, with strange powers that no one in the community got.He could see the color red. Jonas is chosen to be the new Receiver of Memory for his community when he turns twelve. Even before his training, Jonas is seeing beyond. After his training begins, Jonas’s universe became more clear to him.He could see that everyone were not the same in the past and they had colors in the past but now they went to sameness. His new awareness of strong emotions, beautiful colors, and great suffering makes him extremely curius about the world around him. 
The Giver- The old man known in the community as the Receiver of Memory. The Giver has held the community’s memory for a long time.His daughter was a Receiver of memory.Her name was Rosemary.Rosemary ask to be released because The Giver gave her memory's of pain and suffering.She could'nt handled the memory's.Release means death.When Rosemary died The Giver felt bad for the memory he had gave her and also sad because that was his doughter and now he is living in a world of loneliness.
